It took me a while to get around to seeing Inglorious Basterds (I missed it at the cinema – for shame!) but I remember seeing these posters around when the movie first came out.
The heavily sharpened and distressed portrait shots comped onto a simple textured background are very effective, with the poses and props conveying some of the traits of the individual characters. The Eli Roth poster especially conveys the menace of his character.
It’s a little strange that the lighting on the Mélanie Laurent portrait is so much harsher the rest of the set, but it’s still a really striking image.
